KARENFOUNDER & POLITICAL STRATEGIST

Karen founded Welead OC with a clear-eyed recognition of American democracy's fundamental flaw: the systematic exclusion of women Democrats, especially Women of Color and those from marginalized communities, from positions of political power. While others talked about representation, Karen built an organization to transform it.

Her vision wasn't just to elect more women—it was to create a new political ecosystem where progressive women from overlooked communities could thrive and lead effectively. This wasn't an abstract concept for Karen, but the culmination of decades on the political frontlines.
THREE DECADES OF POLITICAL WARFARE
With over 30 years in the political trenches, Karen brings battle-tested experience that few can match. She has:
· Strategized and executed hundreds of campaigns across America, from local races to major statewide contests
· Served as a Legislative Representative fighting for policy change
· Directed PAC operations as Deputy Director for a powerful senior citizen advocacy organization
· Provided comprehensive political consulting to both candidates and non-profit organizations

This wealth of experience gives Karen unparalleled insight into what progressive women candidates need to succeed—especially those running in challenging districts where traditional party support is often lacking.
BUILDER OF POLITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
Where the political establishment saw "unwinnable" districts, Karen saw untapped potential in the passionate, community-connected women ready to lead. Through Welead OC, she has created the structural, financial, and mentoring support these candidates need.
Karen's approach is comprehensive and practical. She doesn't just identify and train candidates—she builds the entire ecosystem necessary for their success, from campaign staff development to fundraising networks to community support systems.

The result is a growing movement of progressive women leaders who are changing the face of American politics from the ground up, district by district, election by election.
